Exclamation Stay away from this insurance agency...

My MC policy is coming up for renewal. I called my agent as I do every year to check on pricing/options. Mostly, I'd like to get away from Progressive.

Well, after a few emails back and forth and discussing switching to GMAC...they got offended that I did my own research on GMAC and they sent this.

Dear *****

I'm not sure of your motivations but since you know nothing about the insurance business you should stay with what you do know and leave it to a professional to write insurance.

I'm not sure where you called but you have been misinformed, they do offer xxx/xxx/xxx and matching uninsured motorist.

Perhaps it would be best for you to find another agent you can trust and have faith in

Best Regards

Howard Geer

Needless to say, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

So... stay away from these jack@sses known as motorcycleinsurancespecialists or Howard Geer

re you with Progressive now? Is this an agent for GMAC? That is ridiculous. Progressive seems to be priced right and take care of their customers from reports I've read here. I'm happy with them so far. Good luck and kick this turkey to the curb. You should send him a link of this post.

I am with Progressive now. I don't like their political affiliations. I'd rather give my $$$ to another company.

This agency gave me a comparable quote for GMAC...which I had not heard of so I researched them. Went back to the agent with some questions and here we are.

There is never any excuse for your agent to be that rude

surprising! I have clients check their situation all the time... in fact I ask them to.

either hes a drama queen or you both had some super deep trust thing going on that he feels you violated.

I don't care if he thinks I don't trust him. I'm looking out for myself. All I did was contact the actual company he was selling to find out info for myself. I don't see anything wrong with that.

You never treat a customer like this...needless to say, I switched agents immediately.

FWIW, This is my email back to them:

Wow...congratulations, you win "worst customer service of year" award.

I have no agenda other than being an informed consumer. All I was doing was researching GMAC, whom I had heard nothing about previously. I don't blindly buy something without researching it myself first.

You might be interested to know that I've taken the liberty to post your email response, company name and website on several high-traffic motorcycle enthusiast websites. Now thousands of my fellow riders will see how you treated a customer for trying to be an informed consumer.

Have a nice day.
