I also agree. Something sounds fishy here. I'm no fan of AARP and terminated my membership some years ago but I did have Foremost Ins thru AARP on my bike for a couple of years. I just pulled out the old policy (I still have it) and nowhere does it mention anything about the coverage being restricted to New York state or any other state for that matter.

Well, if it is true...

Now do you know why AARP is against the NRA?

I'm with 20FXST206, I've sold Foremost and other insurance all over the country for 18 years. If their policy had that kind of limitation in it, they had to sign off and acknowledge what they were buying. We are not getting the whole story here...

If this is true, add another reason I will never become a member of AARP.

They're Foremost policies. I also find it a bit hard to believe the policy is void outside New York state. Can you post the exclusion from the policy?

I have regional insurance for my boat (Great Lakes only) and get a huge discount for that exclusion. But never heard of auto insurance that had regional coverage.

AARP sells their endorsements. It has little to do with the quality of the product or service.

Having said that, after spending years reading the forums I'm sure that there are people out there who would buy something just because it's cheap and not worry about reading the fine print. I'm not saying it happened in this case, just saying that I'm sure it's happened.
