I just got mine through Markel. Has anyone ever used them or know anything about them?

I have been using Markel Insurance company for motorcycles and 4-wheelers for 15 years. I've never had to make a claim, but their price is right and they are very easy to deal with.
I have a few friends that also use them and I have never heard a complaint.
I would say you made a good choice.

When i bought my FLHTC this past June I shopped Progressive and Geico, both of which I had used before. The quotes I was getting from them were over $700 a year and I have a spotless record, even have an MSF rider safety course. I thought the insurance was going to be a deal breaker on the Harley buy, since they wanted more for the Electra Glide than I was paying on my Chevy Silverado!

In searching the net I came across Markel. Did some research and found they were well rated and seemed financially sound. Their quote for the same coverage was $432 a year...more than $300 less than Geico and Progressive. I called them and wrote the policy and bought my bike! They were very easy to deal with and seemed like they were really bike insurers, not just auto insurers doing bikes as a sideline. No claims yet fortunately but so far so good!

Been a customer for over 6 years w/ no issues. Very easy to deal with and way better on the price for the same coverage.

I used them for a number of years but about two years ago their quote was higher than Geico so I switched. I will say that I never had any trouble out of them and did make a claim when I was rearended by a non insured driver.

My bike was stolen last month so I had been following this thread hoping somebody had claim experience with Markel.I can say from my experience if you have to file a claim you have not a worry in the world with this company.

I called in my claim on September 13 right after lunch and received an email from my adjuster within a couple of hours that he had just put my claim paperwork in the mail.

There is a 30 day waiting period on all theft claims and today is day 29 and I received a phone call this morning with the "very very generous" settlement offer which I think I was able to close my mouth long enough to accept.
