Just renewed mine in southern california... still works for me. Thanks for the heads up info "Coiledup".... good to know the other extras AAA gives you. Actually, 2 weeks ago, a riding buddy had to use his, and they drove him and his bike 90 miles back to his house.

+1 Just renewed it about 3 days ago. So I would guess it's still available unless they took my $$ for no service.

Strange but true, thanks. Another reason to succeed from the rest of California...

So does this mean that even if you have valid m/c towing through AAA (I'm in western PA and my AAA RV Plus claims to be good for motorcycles), if I happen to be in an area where AAA does not offer m/c towing, I'm out of luck? What good is the coverage at all then? I'll have to plan my breakdowns for southern CA but be really careful in northern CA?

Cookiemech, It depends on the contract station you get serviced by, some shops in northern Cal, where I was a tow truck driver, don't have the equipment or know how to tow motorcycles. But if you have the coverage in your home state, while you are on the phone with 1-800-AAA-HELP they may tell you to pay or the service and apply for reimbursement. If you need to use any of the other perks of plus, you usually have to pay it out of pocket and apply for reimbursement. I do know that if you are in the Antioch or Brentwood area, Pizzagoni's can and will tow motorcycles. Just tell them Scott said so.

That must be new in Nv. I'll have to check it out.

If you have the Plus/RV it's good in all 50 states but the club you belong to pays for the towing and their membership rules apply. Michigan still covers motorcycles. If I break down in another state, regardless if that AAA club doesn't cover motorcycles, my Michigan membership does and pays for it. The AAA in another state will still send out a truck that can tow a motorcycle. I work for the company, AAA Michigan.

I sometime wish there was a Class Action against all of the insurance companies to get all of their premium policies in-line. I have never had a claim, never had a bike or car stolen but my insurance costs are base on where I live more than anything. That just does seem fair. I can't afford to move.
