Default Progressive Insurance

On Mother's Day my son and his girlfriend decided to go for bike ride. A jackass in a cage pulled out in front of him and that was the end of the story. My son ended up with a totaled bike. Fortunately, neither he or his girlfriend were badly hurt, just some road rash and some bruises. The cage driver got a nice $785 ticket for, number one-causing the accident and number two-no insurance. Fortunately my son had insurance including uninsured motorist coverage. So he called progressive.

Now, before I get into what progressive said, let me say that my son's bike was a 2003 Honda VTX 1300 Retro that he bought in 2004 with 20,000 miles. It also had quite a few uprades like removable windshield, light bar, mustang seat, etc. He paid $7000 for the bike. In the last 5 1/2 years, he's added another 15,000 miles on it and put on V&H pipes and a luggage rack.

Well, today the adjuster call them back. I'd been telling him he would be lucky to get between $4K and $5K for the bike. They are giving him $7200. Of course that also includes the cost to replace the helmet his girlfriend was wearing, his jacket and the two pair of jeans that were destroyed. His bike was an absolutely perfect condition but I'm still really surprised at how much they gave him for his bike. It makes me happy that I have both my bikes insured with progressive.

The only sad part to this story is that I told him now he could go buy a Harley and he said no way, I'm getting another Honda.

Glad everything turned out better than expected but you might want your son to get a CT scan on his head. I think he might have bumped it a little harder than you think in the accident.

Had Progressive for years on my truck. But had Geico on the Bike. Well somehow I missed making a payement and was cancelled. So I just changed over to Progressive and it saved me money. Now I'm glad I did.

Been with Progressive for years. Only had one claim and they paid it no problems, actually after I called them the first time they contacted me several times. Until everything was fixed.
I also have had absolutely no complaints about any of the Hondas my wife and I have owned.

I have Progressive too and found them to be the best deal out there.

Never had a claim with them but have heard nothing but good about them, and hope to keep it that way.

I have Progressive, hope I don't ever have to use it, but it's nice to know that they treat you fair.
