got a flyer in the mail today from Markel Insurance company. the rates look pretty good. has anyone used them before? how was the service, and if you had a claim how was it in dealing with them?

 

I've had them for four years. Never had a claim but very good service when I add a bike or have questions.

 

Great rate. But when my bike got knocked over in the parking lot I couldn't get them to send an adjuster out to look at the bike for about 12 days. I had to make a call to the state insurance commission. That seem to get them moving.

 

I've been using Markal for 13 years now. Never had a claim so can't tell you anything about that part. Customer service has always been great. Moved to Texas and bought a Wideglide and needed full coverage. They had everybody beat. Tx has a form that has to be signed and sent in. I never noticed. They emailed, called and gave me time to get the paperwork in instead of just raising my rates like others might do. Insurance is something you buy and hope you never use, lol. Personally I hope I never have to find out what their claim service is like.

 

Just check Markel last week. $100 a year more than Foremost for same coverage.
