Default Allied Insurance

Anybody ever heard of Allied? or had any dealings with the company?? My agent shot me a 1yr price with them for my '99 Sporty. They seem to have pretty decent coverage. Right up there with State Farm. Of course my agent says they are a great company. Thanks.

Check their rating at www.ambest.com. Make sure they are rated A- VII or better. Do not buy otherwise.

Allied is a subsidiary of Nationwide insurance. Check Foremost insurance in your area; they have pretty good rates in most areas and they offer really great coverage.

Right. I used to work for Nationwide, at their home office here in Columbus, so take this with a grain of salt, or chalk it up to me being a "disgruntled former employee" (I'm not) if you want. That said, I wouldn't use Nationwide, or their companies to insure the chair I'm sitting in. For every claim that they do handle fairly, there are 4 other schmucks that get the wool pulled over their eyes. The years I worked there, I saw plenty enough to convince me of that. Other insurance companies may be the same, but I've not seen firsthand.
