I've had State Farm for 41 years, but they've been raising the scoot rate every year for the last 4 years, so I decided to shop around, and found Geico, for the same coverage, was $200 lower for the year. That's a lot of gas. I called the SF office and asked why so much? They had no real answer, but she agreed like...yeah, we've gotten a lot of motorcycle cancellations lately, when I told her I was going to shop around. I've had NO claims, no violations. I have my house, and 2 autos with them.......but, will shop around now to see how much I'm getting screwed with those policies. Bastages!

I have always used State Farm insurance. In 2006 I was rear eneded on the freeway. I filled a uninsured motorist claim. The part that helped was that a witness was there to support the hit and run claim. They paid the bike, and wrote me a check for 250k.
I always get $250,000/500,000 with $500 deductible. Luckely My leg was saved by using pins and plates. As you can see I ride again.

Cheap insurance isn't always the best way to go. You never know you just might have to use it someday.

I have Geico also although I've heard Progressive is cheaper.

Used State Farm for ~40 years, but on the scoot went with HD subbed to Dairyland. Had one accident and they were great. They have since stopped writing MC ins. Now with Progressive via HD.

Since you have State Farm, do they cover safety equipment? My agent never could find out for sure and that is why I didn't keep everything with them.

I have Progressive also. I'd had State Farm for about 8 or 9 years on my p/u truck, but when I got the bike I had to drop the insurance on the truck to afford the insurance on the bike. For the bike with Progressive, I pay $512/yr, when I went to State Farm today just to give them another chance, they quoted me at $425...I almost said "Sign me up!" until she said "That's for 6 months."...ugh! Then she said she could get it down to $400/yr for the bike and $200something for the truck and combine it, and I told her then I'd be paying $115/yr more than I am now just for the bike!

Oh well, Progressive gets to keep me for the meantime at least.

I changed from Progressive to Geico, that saved me $300 a year and have the same coverage on my sportster. A friend of mine has a FXDL and save almost 500.00 by switching.

I have Foremost now. I Had Nationwide, but when I got the new Heritage they wanted to raise my rates from $886.00 a year to over $2,000.00 a year. I checked with Foremost and they wanted $876.00 on the bigger Heritage (verses the $886 with Nationwide for the Sporty) and the coverage remains the same.

I've had bike insurance since the mid 1960's. Don't recall all the companies but did have Dairyland for about 15 years before switching to Allied last year.

Can't say anything good or bad about any of them as have NEVER had to file a claim.

Maybe just lucky ................... or a careful rider??

I went with Geico and they seem to be very reasonable.....Now of course, it does matter where you live. I'm in Wisconsin so can't ride year round. I pay $220.00 for the year. Same coverage as my car. No compalints.
