went down for the first time. ..insurance questions
So after 13 years of riding I finally went down. Guy was trying to beat traffic and cut across 4 lanes without looking. I'm pretty bruised but that is it. Bike is a little beat up, any advice on dealing with insurance and extras on bike I don't have receipts for anymore?

Glad you were not seriously hurt.
Your insurance or the insurance of the other driver?
Who was found at fault in the report?
It does not take much to total a bike.
At minimum you should document a list of non-standard items and their replacement cost.
You probably have a a limit on extra's from your own insurance company but if the other driver is paying then they are required to make you whole.
Consider a medical check-up and remember your riding gear (pants, jacket, gloves, helmet, boots) should be covered also.

get the bike to a the shop where you are going to get it fixed
Let the shop extract the money from the Insurance company, that is part of the repair process, for them to get enough money to restore the vehicle to pre loss condition.
how vehicles are appraised in peoples driveways, and what happens in a shop are 2 very different things.
(full disclosure I am an appraiser licensed in 3 states)

Sorry thanks!
They were at fault but no ticket. Luckily I had a witness. I really don't want to go to doctor but maybe I should, pain getting worse.

Reread post #7. real good advise. The dealer will go through the bike with a fine toothed comb and any issues will be diagnosed as part of the accident.
Also get to a Doctor. You never know. In Florida if you do not get checked up within 14 days the Insurance companies have no obligation to cover related injuries if they pop up later.
