Have you ever seen the oil light come on, while on the stand? Hmmm??

I hope to heck they didn’t think I would sit on the hot mothertrucker in summer for two minutes after a ride to check the oil.

Yes you should stay on the bike. No different than a 2 minute traffic light

Total nonsense. My 2022 with 35K miles does not care if it is on the stand.

I only check hot after a ride, not just after letting it idle from cold start. Checking hot after a ride ensures all the oil is heated to app. the same temperature.

MoCo advises letting the engine idle a few minutes after riding, I supposed to full scavenge, but it does not say to do so sitting on the bike upright.

Regardless, when I've set oil level hot to full dipstick, my cold oil level is always 1/2 full on the dipstick. I haven't seen any oil carryover, but I also added the Trask CheckM8 crankcase vent. With 7 years in production, it's pretty strange this topic has just come up for M8 engines.

Riding more is out up here - it's snowing.

Well, sounds like a few know of this. My Sport Glide leans a lot. But never had it upright on cold startup. I've been researching this and there has been concerns about this, but not by many. So the 2 guys was repeating what they have been told. I only warm up till the rpm's drop to about 1200, about 1 minute, then I'm gone. At this point I don't see this as a real issue. Thanks.

Wouldn't the G forces from a high speed left hand turn pull the oil to the right side of the bike?

really the most important thing one can do is to ride it easy for maybe 10 minutes or so, to at least let the oil warm up some to flow easier to all the parts in needs to...hammering on the throttle when cold is hard on engines

I'm not sure why so many people always just assume. I said absolutely nothing about hammering on it!!!! I simply said I'm gone, meaning I'm taking off to ride my bike. I do Ride Slow for about the first 5 minutes or better. I'm just going to assume you was making a general observation for other people.😊
