Both would be on a dyno.
Can you explain what you meant by you can't street tune unless you take it to the track?

Just asking for information, not arguing.

the speeds you have to get it up too are enough to go to prison. Not on my plate. I want my bike tuned not impounded or wrecked.

I understand. So it about how fast to go,
There are plenty of open county paved roads that I can get up to speed. nice paved roads, no cops.

Thank you for reply.

JUst for the record, Direct Link is no longer supported by TechnoReSearch. They have basically shut down that part of the company due to EPA stuff. They told me they would still do support on the legacy usb key type tunes and the software and hardware shoud still work. There just will be no more updates or further improvements to the system.

you can street tune without being at the track, thats one of the wonders of data logging, but in part you have a point about high speed situations, and the higher speed stuff is better handled on the dyno, as long as one has Load Control.

I would only add that data logging/street tuning is in no way a replacement for a proper tune by an expert.

Canned maps and Auto tune have done a lot of dam good tunes over the years. In some builds yes a DYNO done by a real pro is going to get a little more
There are a few dam good tuners on the market . 3 worth looking at depending on your build and Goals.
SE is not a tuner.

auto tune only corrects air fuel though correct. you still need to know what you are doing with timing. You can just turn torque control off. I dont know if they mess with throttle control.
