Check out this video from Master Tech Miller about the oil pump/ plate combo.
According to him the S/E plate/pump combo can handle 12 thousands of runout.

I wouldn’t trust the S&S cam plate if not using a straighten and welded flywheel, cuz if it develops a runout higher than 5 thousands, the brass bushings cold twist causing the oil feed holes of the bushing to misalign with oil hole from the plate starving a lot of engine components of oil. The brass bushings from the S&S cam plate has no splines to prevent twisting the S/E cam plate does and won’t twist, and are designed to handle up to 12 thousands of runout.

This is the first I have heard this, and I question why and how they would accommodate this much.

Don't get me wrong, if this is in fact the case, it might help me make my decision

I am now torn...

Right, also are they referring to TOTAL runout?? More details needed.

I think one of the advantages of the SE one is that the brash bushing is key'd in so it cant rotate like the SnS one can.
I doubt this has much to do with run out tolerance but I wonder if it helps.

When I pulled my SE plate out and looked at it I couldnt see any witness marks or anything that would make me curious or worried about run out, and I never measured the run out of my crank.
But I also installed it with faaaar more focus on trying to ensure it was centered.
I described the method I used to Master Tech Miller a while ago and he said I've got nothing to worry about.

I am curious how they managed to allow out to 12000 though.

im guessing the .012 will just wear the bushing until its happy because it will not rotate in the bore due to the splines.

Howdy,
Late to the discussion.
I have a 2017 Ultra 107. At 35K I did a cam chest upgrade. Prior to 2020 the oil pumps were NOT as good. Since I pulled everything apart, I replaced with the 2020 HD oil pump, cam plate.

I know the OP said it is on back order...

So at 35K you were having problems?
