I was not advocating either way, for sure, I was just wondering if all of the billet plates had the same runout requirement.

I have mine scattered again for a different cam, I hope to get out there yet tonight and get the runout measured.

Just laying out all my options

If you like orange and spending money, go with the SE version.

Id go with the stock post 2020 pump upgrade if it was available. Back ordered, at least at the two dealerships I checked with, But they both had the more expensive Screaming Eagle pump in stock. If you research it it does have the brass races and the bosses are thicker. Better than the upgraded for my purposes, probably not anything meaningful.

I'd go for it too if I was in your shoes.

Why? At $800.00 and a max crank run out of .005 before it starts eating the oil pump, put on your best used car sales hat and sell it to me!

As far as I understand, the SE Pump does not have the Run-out tolerance problems the S&S and Feuling Pumps have had.
And I'm more than willing to bet that if HD is selling said pump to the general public with no suggestions to check run out, then it probably has loose enough tolerances to not need a step that require a tech, or shop to check run out or place a warning on the instructions to check run out.
HD's Legal team would be more than happy to include one in the instructions so that if someone didn't check and the pump fails, they have a legal basis to tell you to **** off because "You should have checked before installing!"
MasterTech Miller on youtube said he uses the SE pump setup now on most bikes that want an upgraded pump and he's never seen one fail. But he's seen the S&S ones fail. Moonshine(regardless what you think of them) swapped to using them consistently as well and machine them for high lift cams.
I would reason to think that if you're not being told repeatedly by the MOCO and aftermarket shops to check runout and not being warned about run out, then it's probably not enough of a problem.
They probably want to sell as many of them as they can for maximum profit and as such may have engineered it with enough tolerance to cover the majority of M8 bikes on the road.
It also has a much less involved installation process for centering it which I think is also an indicator of more tolerance. It makes you rotate the crank one 360 which is not enough IMO. But if they think it's ok, its probably more run out tolerant than the others.
