Well I did receive the Carlink for wireless Android Auto this morning, I bought it on saturday from Amazon.
I connected it and the phone / android auto popped right up so it works smooth and fast, I'm going for a ride this afternoon and will report back on how stable the connection is.

@Ssitruc I bought the WHIM module and went that route instead of the jumper plug, will sell that one on a 2e hand site

So I'm back from a 3 hour ride with 4 stops.
The Carlink connected automaticly in a few seconds after each stop and never lost the connection while riding, so I'm happy with it so far. I used Waze, Google maps and Flitsmeister, all worked flawless

I think the radio itself might have an influence on how well it connects or disconnects. So far it is rare ,but on long trips it has gliched (CPLAY2air)

(An elementary school in china were they make all these dongles in the basement with 1970 technology vs. Harley building a carplay radio in the second millennium)
Now what could go wrong here?

For a few dollars i got a USB on/off switch so I can reconnect with out taking my eyes off the road. Read through some lists of other settings to check and check for updates.

Just a quick update on the
Autosky device Autosky device
.

Took the day off to ramble around this past Tuesday. Rode around for hours, not one issue, steady as a rock.

Great device for a great price.

I'm about 3 weeks in to my @AutoSky unit as well, been running great. I have not experienced any issues with connection or freezing since my original report. Very surprised how fast it is, zero lag.

Good to know there’s a more affordable option out there that works.

Ditto, same here... I replaced the Cplay2air one I had in my truck with the AutoSky one and the lag on phone calls seems to be gone, and other wise works it is just as good... plus its smaller and less expensive... So I changed out the one on the bike too, now I can fit my phone in the storage compartment if I want to and there is enough room. On the bike I never had any other issue with the previous one, but this one has also been trouble free and reliable so far.

It can be hit or miss on connection speed with (CPLAY2air) , sometimes it's instantly connected, like how is that possible?!?! and other times 20-25 seconds... acceptable/normal.

If you search the inter webs and get a larger sampling then HD forums ... they ALL have some hiccups. some take time to show up. I'm hooked on wireless
