Default What kind of markups is everyone seeing locally?

So I recently face ****ed the back of a car on my Road Glide. Right now it’s looking like the frame is gonna be damaged and be considered a total loss. Yesterday, I was talking to a good buddy who’s sales at a local dealership about Road King Specials he has coming in. I almost lost my **** when he told me the price. They’re asking $29,950 for a RKS when MSRP is $25,500 with the Apex paint. Is anyone else seeing dealerships trying to get almost a 25% markup on new bikes over MSRP?

seems to be the norm that past year or so..as always, shrewd negotiators with patience can always find decent deals though

So there are options that are factory installed like RDRS (traction control, hill hold assist, etc) for $1025.00, and other stuff ($200 worth) added to $31,874 (MSRP for color two-tone w/black finish) to get to $33,099 plus $1000 dealer markup (I don't agree with...same with all dealers...

Everything is negotiable when you are sitting down at the table, including above pricing...

The custom two-tone color (APEX) is $25,479 MSRP + RDRS $1025 + Cali Emissions $200 + freight $750 + Dealer surcharge $1000 = $28,454
So maybe the Dealer Surcharge is more like $2500 giving you the $29,950 approx. you were quoted...looks like a 5% markup to me...

Default Maybe ask and negotiate

Instead of posting here, chat with dealership/sales for a lower price?? I/we can't help you with that price...just say you're a fool to pay it?

Not sure how it is in other areas but here in NW Florida all of the independent dealers have been bought out by multi dealer networks that all have the same markups. They all charge $995 for dealer prep here which is a load of bs since H-D reimburses the dealers for PDI and setup. Also now they will not sell a new bike without adding paint protection ($599-750) and anti-theft coding ($600-800). The icing on the cake is the doc fee ($650). A salesman I bought multiple bikes from one of the old owners basically told me they are not interested in selling a new bike unless they make 20-25% profit min on the deal. Just traded my previous bike in on a 2022 street bob and it was a dogfight to get a deal done.

No dealer markups in Omaha. Straight MSRP.
