Default Aftermarket tuner question with screaming eagle tune

Looking to see if anyone here knows if I can use either a fp3 or 4 or the pv4 with a screaming eagle download already in the ecm? Does it save the file and just replace it with their version? Just about to run out on the warranty and wanted to put a better system on. Thanks in advance.

PV saves the original tune first.

True, but not relevant to the OP's question. The FP3, 4, PV, SE tuners are all are flash tuners, so a new map would be flashed to the ECM. What was there before doesn't really matter.

The next question usually is "can I put the old map back before I take it in for a warranty claim?"

Answer is yes, but the fact that you used an aftermarket tuner to flash the ECM would be detected by the moco, so it would be pointless to do so.

So I can just flash over what's existing in the ecm? Not worried about saving the old tune, just want better options that come with aftermarket tuners.

Yes. I did exactly that with mine. Had the SEPST, hated it, got a FuelMoto PV tune

Yes you can flash over the existing tune. And, as said before, you could then use the SE tuner to restore that tune, if you needed to.

Stay away from that trash! If you’re going to spend the money on a tuner powervision or ThunderMax only. You’ll actually see a difference in performance. Buy nice or buy twice.
