Default It was worth the effort to find the right exhaust

A recent post by MJWebb started me thinking about my own M8 exhaust experience and thought I would share it. Been riding Harleys since the 1980s and always changed the exhaust from stock. Also have ridden some other brands and rarely have changed the exhaust because in most cases it is not a sound that I want more of. With the Harleys I liked the sound so much that I wanted more of it. For me, I have realized that sound, appearance and performance of the exhaust is important. Exhaust sound and performance come into play every time you ride so it is important to get it right. With my 2022 SGS the stock exhaust was better than most stock exhausts but I wanted more. I started with SE Street Cannons because I had them on a previous M8 and I liked the sound better than stock, but I still wanted a little deeper and louder sound. Over the years with different Harleys I have had good experiences with Rinehart and Khrome Werks exhausts. This time the answer was Khrome Werks 4.5 HP+ with the performance baffle inserts. Just the right amount of loud and deep and no loss of low end torque. Butt dyno says a little stronger in the midrange. For me the sound clips were a little help but I wouldn't want to make a purchase decision on just sound clips. When I heard the Khrome Werks in person I knew it was the right combination of sound , performance and appearance for what I wanted. Not too loud and excellent performance. The new exhaust has added to my enjoyment of each ride more than I would have thought. Exhaust choice is an individual preference and the reason for this thread is that it could be worth some research for each rider to find what their own best exhaust is. It would be interesting to hear from others as to their own choice of exhaust.

+1 on the Khrome Werks. I had a cam upgrade done on my bike and my tuner recommended them for sound and performance. After listening to them I had to agree. They sound great and the performance was even better.

Fuelmoto jackpot header with S&S Mk45s (quiet baffle installed). Good enough for me....
