Please No comments under 100k miles. This isn’t meant to **** on the M8 but to alert us owners on what issues to prepare for. Maybe even specific preventative maintenance? I’m enjoying mine immensely but only halfway to 100… Let’s hear them stories. Thanks, Dutchy

I have a 17 RG purchased 6-1-17, it currently has 110,773 miles on it, went to a stage 2 at about 18K in Feb 0f 2018, details in sig below. The left switch pack, front heatshield, & the clutch slave were replaced under warranty. I had to replace the stator in year 3, this was caused by a loose pos battery cable so the stator was running full blast with nowhere to go & it burned out 2 posts on the stator, replaced VR so as to not burn out another stator. Bike was still starting & running OK so I didn't check the cable right away, I hate that the battery is under the ECM& is such a pain in the a$$ to access, lesson learned. I never had any transfer or sumping problems, I did waste the $$ on a new oil pump when installing the cam, it was 2nd or 3rd gen pump not a 8 lobe, so other than that just tires, a couple of sets of brake pads, & oil changes, still original battery. I don't beat on it but I ride it pretty hard & it hit the rev limiter numerous times & seen plenty of 80+ interstate cruising & 120 bursts. Previous 2 TCs had 110K & 145K with no major problems. I guess I'm one of the "LUCKY" ones, this is the best HD I've owned & not planning to trade it anytime soon.

I look forward to the days when I can spend that kind of time in the saddle…but I’ve got a long ways to go…

so if someone has 65,000 miles on their bike, but has had x problems, you want them to wait for another 35,000 miles before they tell you about it? while it could be something that you could take care of now before it becomes a problem? i should think that one would want to know what problems they have had at any mileage so they would know what to look for. but, that's just me....

True enough skratch, but like a similar thread, someone posted that they currently have 70 miles or something like that. I’m just trying to eliminate brain-dead remarks... There’s lot of threads without mileage “restrictions” and it just gets way too deep, is all. 😉
