This was yesterday, didn’t see any rain in the forcast and was closing in on 700 plus miles in less than 36 hours….no rain gear, no full face helmet.
Got home ok…but sucked…LOL.

I can feel the stinging rain from here

The throttle body pins (both male and female) are gold-plated on 2010-on model years, and therefore practically impervious to chemical-reactive corrosion. But they are not impervious to abrasion.

Long story short, I took the TB connector apart and polished the offending terminal, pinched it slightly for tighter pin-fit, and Bob's your uncle. She's running normally with no codes.

As an aside, the early drive-by-wire models did have corrosion issues on those pins, and my codes lined up with that issue and led me to the root cause after researching the internet.

This fix cost nothing but time. Hallelujah!
good catch.. i had the exact same thing but on a car. took me forever to find it

need a recurve on that shield, that'd help. Riding in the rain beats 4 feet of snow.

It is… it’s a freedom shield with recurve. When it’s raining as hard as it was…no amount of recurve is gonna whisk it all over my head. Only way around that is a taller shield, which, I prefer to look over rather than through.

I got a few months before the white fuzzy stuff flies, making up for it with miles when I can.
Thing that sucks more is the splatter off the cars in front of me.. because if you’re doing 65 in the rain, EVERYONE has to go faster, go around you then get in front of you…

Okay, here’s another scene from the highway shoulder on a nicer day.

Apparently HD has an old TSB for this issue. I figured I'd attach it for future reference if somebody wants it. Describes my findings perfectly.
