Metal in M8 oil pump

Is S&S still using the brass bushing in the cam plate? If so inspect that as there is no other source for something like that unless it's not really Brass or Copper. All the bearings in the crankcase are steel. Did You have the rods replaced when it got built, as the only other thing might be the top rod if they have bushings but I believe the stock M8 HD engine does not use bushings in the rods.

No idea where that lot came from, though I find it odd how all the debris seems to be of a regular shape and thickness.

Sounds like the material came from the crank side of the engine blocking the suction tube? I would think so since it was sumping...
Anyway, I don't know much about M8 cranks but found a pic where someone disassembled one. Take a look. In any case, not good... that engine needs to be pulled down.

Similar happened to me on stock M8 107 with just a stage 1. Everything that touched oil was replaced. I had posted about it last year and it escalated quickly. On the plus side, I got a nice S&S 124 upgrade, albeit an unexpected expense. Good luck.

Nope, never did find a culprit. Originally thought it was a bearing but those are steel. There's nothing in there that matches that metal. The builder even asked me if I had enemies, thinking someone purposely put it in there. The bike is always in the garage if not riding.
