5 years with Rokform, 2 motorcycle's and no issues. From iPhone 5, 6plus and now 10. Original holder as well, but I needed to upgrade center mount from plastic to SS. Another added benefit is making the phone mount magnetic, so sometimes for work I just hang it on anything metal and frees up my hands. Great mount

Why wouldn’t you just plug it in and set it in the drawer?

I'm guessing because most phones nowadays won't fit, plus it's not easy to access when in the cubby.

I've had a few over the years, including the one listed above from LAB, and though I like Ryan and his efforts, I wasn't real impressed with the holder. The knurled plastic nut cracked on me once, the whole thing I felt I could never really snug up tight, it just didn't feel like rock solid tough. I bought the Rokform case and mount and hands down, better than anything I've ever used on my dyna, streetglide and now RGL. It's got a locking tab, and a magnetic hold, all in one, even if my bike went down, I don't believe that case would go anywhere, it's that good.

I like the RAM mount with the rubber band around the four corners for added insurance.

After having nearly every mount on this thread, TackForm hands down for me. Endlessly adjustable, one hand operation, all metal, and doesn't look like *** when the phone is not in it. And it's cheaper than a lot of it's competitors...

Custom mount using the half-sphere and magnet from IO mounts and the mount from Harley's handlebar clock. Almost 50K miles and never has the phone even threatened to come off.

I decided to go with the tackform. Seemed to fit what I want more that the others.
