I installed the cb for around 500 dollars as it was fairly straight forward. Are the 2021 models not pre-wired for the cb module?
You are correct, they are not the same antenna. AM/FM & CB antennas have different part numbers. It appears that Mr. Bell's dealer put the wrong antenna on his bike.

I have installed the HD CB on my 17 CVO, then my 19 CVO then my wife's 19 Road Glide Special. I've never had to have the radio flashed. Radio recognized the CB a minute or so after starting.

That changed for the 2020 bikes. I did the same, installed the module from my 2015 on my 2018 and then my 2020. The 2020 didn't recognize it automatically like the 2018 did. I had to have it flashed.

BradsULTD - you are so right. The 09A works on the 2021 - the 08 says, it does not work.

I asked the dealer yesterday and he said the bike is indeed wired for CB. Still, for some reason, Harley is trying to get away from CBs. Really surprised me when they took it off the CVO (was actually surprised when it was taken from the Ultra)

I still have time before riding season - but, right now, it looks like I am headed towards no CB - and, may just go wireless.

I wish I had not installed the WHIM, because it’s rendered the hardwired headset useless, in the event you want to use that setup. There’s no way to return to the factory setup, unless the WHIM is physically disconnected & flashed from the ECM. Also, the Sena mesh cannot remain connected to the BOOM if you want to use the CB, I have to disable the wireless connectivity from the WHIM to the Sena so the Boom can connect the CB wirelessly. In short, a total pain in the ***! I wanted CB for Chapter rides & Run For The Wall, but the Sena Mesh is so much more simple and functional. Just don’t get the WHIM!
I was looking at the Sena30k / CB / WHIM upgrade for overall comms and was thinking the CB would be very useful for chapter rides. bellmnbell - it sounds like you're indicating there's no clean way to do that while staying on the Sena mesh - correct? That seems like a deal breaker for the CB. To top it off my local dealer will not do the flash after the WHIM install unless I purchase the parts from them (of course 20% higher than available online).

By the way, the CB whip antenna (76250-09) is an OEM part and not an accessory which is why it can be hard to find. Dealers have it but it's not going to show up on the HD website.

It's all about cost cutting. It's the same reason they went backwards to a cable operated clutch. Save money.

Funy comment about the clutch

When they were sharing the changes on the 2021, they mentioned the clutch. I asked why they would change that and the response was: Harley did it because so many riders said they like it better.

Got to love it

I asked the Service Writer and he swears that’s the antenna to be used (I don’t believe it). The Dealership owner is cool and will help if I raise the question. I hate Dealership antics!
Different p/n's for 2021 I believe...

Default PTT for 2021 model Ultra Limited

Thanks for all the info below guys - one question I can't find the answer for (and the Manual doesn't seem to give it to me) is PTT for the rider on a 2021 UL. The right switch block USED to have the PTT/Squelch button on it but no longer. The HD dealer guy told me the Voice Activation switch on the left switch block is now the Rider's PTT???? Any help on this one appreciated.......
