The width on most of the aftermarket bars is what bothers me most. My KST Straight Jackets are 36" or so (they claim 35" on their website but I'm not sure where they're measuring). 32-33" is about the sweet spot for me with bars, depending on how far away they are, pullback, etc.

With the KST SJs, which are actually narrower than some similar aftermarket options (like Wild 1), if I rotate them forward a bit to where they feel good while I'm going straight down the road, when I try to do a slow speed U-turn I just about have to sit up on the tank to keep from getting pulled off the bike at full lock (and I'm already close to the tank on a cop seat). If I rotate them back to lessen that reach at full lock, they feel too close to my upper body.

I'm considering trying the H-D Tallboy bars next as well. Interesting post earlier about the KST Pathfinders being narrower, plus it's adjustable. Quite a big price difference from the Tallboy bars, though...

I went with 12” FXR Division Motowitch bars, they are 30.5” wide and have a 12° wrist angle for a solid wrist positioning. I added new poly bushings as well and the setup is as solid as you can get.

Update on my Bars, These HD Tall Boy Bars are working out great. They could have been gloss black but its not a deal breaker. Fit and function is spot on. As to the install, they are almost plug and play but not quite. the Wires wont reach the factory plug locations, so the sockets have to be removed from their holder. This procedure is shown in many of the aftermarket bar install videos. I have the bars mounted pushed forward past parallel with the forks. Lines hang nice without issue.

i did tallboy too and really like them so far , I have mine ever so slightly closer to the rider from what parallel with forks would be and it’s about perfect for my torso. The lower pic shows my first try, I moved them a tad closer to me after that. Fishing those wires is always fun, every time I do bars I loathe that part

I installed a set of 14” FXRDivision Motorwitch bars this weekend. They replaced 14” meat hooks that have been on the bike for three years, and let me tell you I wish I would have done this a lot sooner. They are the perfect height, width and pullback for me.
