Default fuel moto wmx22xe vs wmx22x cam

anyone know what the difference is? leaning in direction of these instead of ss 475 since the torque curve looks fantastic with these. have a stage one with ss sidewinder HD ventilator ac and a Fuel Moto PV tune now. want to upgrade to stage 2 and looking at these dyno charts.

Guessing Fuel Moto is best equipped to answer your question: https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-28217-...fuel-moto.html

Here is a dyno chart that compares the WM8-22X and the WM8-22XE, these tests were done on the same bike with the same exhaust etc.. but they were done a couple weeks apart. The 22XE makes quite a bit more horsepower than the 22X, the 22X makes slightly more low RPM power. Because of the increased duration the XE cam has the potential to be a bit more picky exhaust & tune wise than the 22X, however not quite as picky as the S&S 475 for example. Choose the cam that fits your riding style that will work with the rest of your peripherals and you'll have a great combo.

mikeo33y, Hey there I have the 22X in my 107...now 114 (jugs and pistons, big bore from Harley) my roll on numbers with a "canned, base map" from Fuelmoto are 110Hp and 117TQ. That is with stock exhaust/headpipe (no cat) and CVO Mufflers. I would expect your numbers with a 2 into 1 would be a little higher. But again, this was/is a "roll on" no dyno tune, AND I am more than happy. Dyno sheet is on here, under 107 to 114, you can look at it. Best of luck, CSM-H

Once again good info and thanks to Jaime.
I have a love/hate relation with Fuel Moto's dyno page.
Love to look at it and learn...then hate to think about the money (albeit WELL spent) it's gonna cost...

To finish off my stage II, I just installed the SS 2/1/2 head pipe from FM to replace my gutted stock pipe. While there, I inquired about the new 22XE cam to replace my 22X. For my riding style and exhaust I was steered away from the 22XE. Nearly 55,000 miles on my 2018 Road Glide, its a good runner.

fuelmoto- Any info on cams ran with mini grenades or the like? I have 114 Fat Boy with mini grenades and never see any charts with them or something close like shortshots. I know there's a lot of talk about a loss of low end torque with mini grenades and the shorter, more open exhausts and I'm sure its probably true. I'd like to change cams and want to make the best decision I can based off available info but there just doesn't seem to be any that I can find. Any suggestions?

Far from my first post I don't know what my prior log in names were on here but had a Nightrain for years and then a FatBob 114 for a couple years I just traded in to get a 2019 Street Glide Special 114 about a month back...

So far I just have Jackpot slip ons, an Arlen Ness Big Sucker AC kit and a Fuel Moto tune through a Power Vision. Next step is a cam swap and was looking at the RedShift 468 and the SE torque cams but saw the dyno runs posted on Fuel Moto and watched some YouTube vids and decided the WM8-22X would be best, until I saw the 22XE. Will do the whole kit with adjustable pushrods, inner bearing and lifters and figure might as well upgrade to the 2020 oil pump as well. Anything else need to be done while in it?

I hop on and off the highway, ride solo 80-90% of the time, and want passing power and low end to midrange accel and I think either cam would be great...which of the two is best for my setup? I don't PLAN to swap head pipe or do other power mods...I don't care about a number/max to brag about I like power under the curve and strong pulling bikes... really can't go wrong with X or XE from what I can tell. Any input?
