I always enjoy that guys videos on YouTube. He is very thorough.

I tried to purchase the new longer filter last weekend from two different dealerships and they both told me it is backordered! One dealer said they are waiting on 4 cases and they are all spoken for already.

Thanks for posting the video. It was pretty interesting to see the internals of different filters. I wonder if a new M8 oil for the new M8 only filter is next? Only to be followed by The Warranty Is Void for not using the new M8 oil and M8 filter in the exclusive HD M8. 😎

JUST MY OPINION BOYS...SO NO FUSSING. YOU CAN HAVE YOURS AND I WON'T GIVE A RATS ***. THIS IS JUST FOR THE FIRST POSTER SINCE HE ASK.

Harley's is the best. Having more filter medium or just my opinion making it longer probably matters little. Years ago, filters were huge. However, with modern engines and oils, you are never going to stop up a filter unless something grenades in the motor. And if you think a bigger filter is going to help then, so be it. I really seriously doubt that bypass is ever used unless you hop on your Harley in freezing weather and WOT it.

TC's idle oil pressure is designed around correct oil viscosity and little restriction in the filter. You do not need anything tighter than 5 microns. It is interesting that the short Harley is TC or M8 while the new M8 longboy does not refer back to the TC. That makes no sense unless the length may just interfere on some TCs. On my Softail, the longer one would work better not requiring the cup wrench with the notch in it to clear the CPS sender.

They all work.

he is thorough that's for sure..hope he does a video on changing light bulbs...I want to know from an expert if I really should be disconnecting the main fuse and battery before changing light bulbs to avoid "serious injury or death" if I don't, like my Owners Manuals always state may occur

the best for me is the HD one...why? because it's readily available, not overly expensive and the most important thing is it takes any guess work out of the equation..they have been using the same one forever, it just works and never heard of any related failure issues...that makes caring about ranking the others null and void for me anyway...same with oil..I use the KISS principle and not over think these things
