Built-in / Normal M8 Vibration

If your dealer is cool, take the suggestion others have provided and go ride a few more of the same model just to be sure... armed with that info you can approach your dealer if you still think something is wrong.
They are going to tell you your bike is "normal" just about always... standard response.

You cannot compare the 2000 to the new bike. Different engine, different frame, etc. You need to test ride another bike that is just like your new bike so you can have a like comparison. Going by what the tech says is not the same as doing the comparison yourself.

Believe it or not but if you suffer from hands that get numb or painful while riding a simple change in grips can improve your pain and numbing significantly. Having so many bikes over the years I can tell you an grip that's made with metal like billet with rubber inserts will beat your hands to death. The old standard rubber black grips will give you a better ride, better grip and less time setting the cruise or throttle lock so you can shake blood down to your hand.
I have a pair of billet CVO grips and their ****. Going back to the old standard asap.

agree..these are what I have been using on the last 3 bikes for 70,000 miles and will continue to..the barrel contour is a much more natural fit and feel

Yep those grips or jus standard old black rubber. Either are leaps and bounds better than metal styled grips. I think the grips on my sled cost like $350 maybe more and the old standard are like $60

Kuryakyn ISO grips with bar-end weights tamed the vibrations for me. That, and an upgraded seat. Where the vibrations were really annoyingly noticeable were in the seat, especially at ~3,000 RPMs. I got two seats, a Sundowner and a Saddlemen Renegade Solo, and with both they totally eliminate the vibrations up until about 4,000 RPM, and that's fine with me.

The softails are twin balanced but hard mounted to the frame. I've ridden all the newest softail and touring models back to back countless times and I can tell you affirmatively that the softails vibrate more than touring. Every softail model... Very noticeable in the floorboards and handlebars. Like you've experienced, it just gets worse the faster you go too. Like high frequency hand numbing vibration. I'm not trying to hate on Softails - they're pretty great - but, yeah, I think they vibrate a bunch.
