M8 Cam install Tool
Does anyone have the tools/jigs needed to remove and install the cam bearing on the M8 platform? I have been looking to rent or borrow a set but havent found anywhere that does this..
Anyone have any advice? I see Jims is the standard but its damn near $300.. However georges garage also has the tools but its four or five seperate part numbers which is itself over $200. Id hate to pay this premium to use something one time.
Thanks

I was worried about ordering a Chinese special and damaging the crank case due to bad fitment.
Saying that many on here have used Chinese tools with much success,I guess you pay your money and take your chances!

I've ALWAYS done the cams on my bikes, but this go round, on the M8, I just paid to have it done. It was hard to release my bike to another mechanic, but they were very qualified and it was DONE and back in nothing flat...And I didn't have the tool just laying around... Then I moved on to getting it tuned.
You might consider just having it done...BTW, anyone need a Georges cam tool set for a Twin Cam? I have one no longer needed...

I haven't used Jim's and don't know about the $300, but I know George's Garage bearing removal and install tools work slicker than gorilla snot. Only two part numbers at Fuel Moto:https://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-238972...tall-tool.html $98.95
https://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-218635...pull-tool.html $95.50
If you have a buddy with a twin cam removal tool that you can borrow, it will work on the M8. Then you only have to buy the install tool. If not, I wouldn't hesitate to buy both. I'm with Q-Ball82. I wouldn't cheap out here. You could always sell them or rent them out to reduce your cost.
