131" Crate Motor Installed
#21
Which dealer was offering this deal? Could it have been the 131” kit installed? The reason I ask is the motor alone is $6,195 oil cooled and $6,395 twin cooled. $5,195 installed is about 20% off not including labor. The kit is $3,495 so it would still be a good deal at $5,195 installed.

I was talking with salesman Tripp in Rossmeyer's about the 131's while at the same time my brother was also talking with another nearby salesman. That other salesman told my brother that Tripp was a Bruce Rossmeyer grandson. Tripp had told me that they did not have any 131 kits in bikes for sale or 131 kits in stock but they did have the 131 motors. He took me over to 1 on display near parts and then later I saw at least one other on display out in the service writing area and maybe one on display in the service waiting room. Your $5195 is the price I was seeing also but Tripp never mentioned to me that it included labor. All this was early on in Bike Week. Perhaps later in the next week they might have been anxious to get some of those 131's in bikes and perhaps upped the ante with including labor.

Fuel Moto has done so much beautiful work. Thinking WM8-22X with the Power Vision tune or possibly TTS with a true dyno tune. I'm just curious how much I will get and if the juice will be worth the squeeze. The reason I went with the crate motor is the year warranty and the motor is as blown out as it can be: heads, cylinders, injectors, throttle body, etc. The only thing missing is the cam, the tuner and a real dyno tune. I rode for about an hour today and you couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

I was also there and that was not the price installed, the salesmen I talked to told me with labor and needed gaskets and such it was right around $9,000 installed.

If it was in fact just the kit, there is no way that's right, that would be around $5500 just for labor. They have a ton of people working in there and the majority was brought in from out of state to work bike week so I'm sure there is a ton of misinformation floating around during that week.
