I just had to use a pair of channel locks to get mine off today. I have noticed before and don’t tighten the **** out of it when screwing it back in but always seems super tight.

I have no experience with an M8 oil cap, but my Sportster cap also seemed difficult. And since someone mentioned using a pair of channel locks, I'll assume the difficulty of the cap in question concerns the amount of pressure required to get it to turn.

My solution is to reach over the seat, turn my hand, and grasp the cap between my thumb and forefinger.

Mine is much easier to screw out when the engine is hot, than when the engine is cold. One reason I rarely concern myself with "cold engine oil level."
