Default Possible to Lower Rear End But Maintain/Improve Ride Qualtiy?

Hello, I have a 2020 Road Glide Ultra Limited that I would like to lower 1/2-1 inch in the rear. I am wanting to do this to get me feet more planted on the ground. I have a Saddlemen Road Sofa extended reach seat and it helped a lot comparted to the stock seat, plus it's very comfortable. I can almost flat foot the bike now but would feel more confident/comfortable if it was slightly lower. I want to keep or improve the ride quality so cheap lower shocks won't work. I appreciate any suggestions.

I posted a similar question . I'm my case is was for asthetics. Almost all responses were negative.
I gotta comment. Whenever I see where short people can't flatfoot the bike, makes me ashamed of how unconfident I am with my RK. I can ride it fine, but I'm so paranoid at slow, stop, n go. Hoping to spend alot more time on it this spring, and finally get my gf on the back. Sorry to hijack.
imo, it takes ***** to operate a huge bike and can't flatfoot. Good luck.

It's funny how an inch or so lower can change the whole riding experience.

Possible to Lower Rear End But Maintain/Improve Ride Qualtiy?

The easiest and cheapest way to lower it and keep the ride the same, is a lowering kit. It won't noticeably effect normal ride quality, unless you bottom out.

IHGDALE, I lower both a 2013 Road Glide Ultra and now my 2018 Road King with a 1" lowering block (not the right name) Got one from LA Choppers and the other a no name brand off of e-bay. either one was about $100. And they both gave be the desired result I was looking for. Good luck, CSM-H

TMW lowering blocks will get you down 1" at the shocks. That'll give you about a 1/2" at the seat. With the stock 13" shocks you might have to file the shock down a little so it doesn't hit the bag.

Put these lowering blocks on your 13" shocks will barely change the ride quality. I've ridden over 100,000 miles the last 5+ yrs. Half of that was on 12" shocks the other half was on 13" OEM hand adjustable with the TMW blocks. You can buy them on eBay or directly from their website, about $89.

Put some miles on the bike before you start lowering things, get a few thou on it and they do settle down some. My RK felt very tall in the beginning like I was almost stretching. Now I'm comfortably flat footed.

Lean Angle you ask? You lower your bike, and it will drag sooner in a corner, period.

I used some cheap lowering kit from ebay on my last bagger and had no problems with it.
