Default Stage II Opinion

Welp, my dealer talked me out of a Stage III SE for the 2020 RGL I plan on buying this winter. He says if I don't care about the warranty, (which I do) that I could achieve near Stage III performance with a proper combo of cam, (S and S) Tuner (other than SE) and Exhaust (Other than SE), I considered the Stage III because I wanted a big increase in TQ and Power spread throughout the entire range because I'll be hauling near 400lbs between me and the wife. (ya,I know).
So I would like opinions for this combo:

S&S El Dorado Dual Exhaust With Tracer Mufflers. I don't want a loud exhaust so Id rather keep cats.
S&S 465C
V and H FP3 tuner
Ready. Set. GO!

Have you ridden an M8 114 tourer yet? Pretty decent power already. My ‘19 has stage 1 only and hauls the wife and I just fine.

Use the planned exhaust, it is AWESOME... use the HD Stage 2 TQ cam and SEPST and SE Auto tuner, I ran this set up on my ‘17 CVO Limited and ‘18 RGS. I was very happy with this set up and my wife and I are in the same weight rage as you are.

You say you care about your warranty. If you do, then that tuner is a no go. So, if you wanna retain your warranty, then mofo67's advice is solid. It'll run good with a decent boost in tq and hp and still keep your factory warranty intact.

Confused. So you’ll be doing the install or having a non HD dealership do it? You said you do care about warranty but willing to forego it. HD dealerships are not allowed to turn compliant powertrains into non compliant ones so they’d be stupid to take on that build. But yeah, quality aftermarket parts and properly tuned engines will get you best bang for the buck.

I posted this the other day. The base run was with the SEPST and SE slip-ons. The other is with the S&S exhaust and auto-tuner added. The bike was not tuned on the dyno just had them do a base run and an updated run.

Yes. I test drove one a month ago. I love it but as I said I want this extra to and power right from the start. And slightly louder than stock.
Anyone have an opinion on the S&S exhaust?

I do care about the warranty but am considering voiding it.
So if I went with SE exhaust I would be in compliance with warranty using non SE cams?

See my post above. I REALY liked the S&S El Dorado Exhaust. Nice deep ideal, sounds good under hard acceleration but doesn’t drone at highway speeds. FYI, it will take about 1,000 miles to get the best sound. Slowly improves as you put the first thousand or so miles on it.
