Just spoke to my dealer. He said that the cyber sale will last until the end of the week. Harley just released a new software update for the Boom GTS. That update provides the Boom GTS compatibility all the way back to the 2014 model year.

With the Sony XAV7000 installed on a Harley "You will no longer have access to your "Information Screen" to view EITMS, Oil Pressure, Ambient Air Temp. You will also lose the feature where your factory Harley deck tells you the closest gas station when you're running low on fuel. Also, becasue the icons on your factory Harley deck are no longer present when you switch to the Sony device, your right hand control joystick mirrors your left hand control capabilities - such as changing songs/stations and increasing and decreasing volume."

I also don't believe the Sony is compatible with the Harley CB hand controls so you'll lose the CB use as well.

You lose the ability to load pre-planned routes as well. That is 100% why I will stick to the Boom. I think the new Sony is waterprpoof though.

I update is done through Digi Tech (dealer), not a download for the consumer.

Any update on this?

Did anyone get it working?

My Dealer has no information about this.

I have a new 2020 GTS BOOM (76000829A) scheduled for delivery next week from Surdyke. its going into a 2017 CVO Limited. I plan to install it myself and then have my local dealer enable it for my bike. I’ll start a new thread with the results.

BTW, the price on the GTS has gone back up to $1899 from the Black Friday pricing of $1520. And Surdyke has also raised their price to $1694. Looks like the special pricing is gone. http://www.surdyke.com/Search.aspx

This is a great thread, TY heatwave. This is on my someday list and it's looking like it will be easier and more cost-effective to do as time as time goes on.
