Default Fuel Moto 117 Reviews, Long Term

So I've done a search, read a few things but no real, "Long term" reviews. Looking for comments, issues (leaking, maybe cam configuration, One cam and then you changed to another because??, Compression, to much 10,8??...). So lets hear it, I know you're out there!!

Try posting in the Touring, or the other Twin Cam Bike subforums. This is the Milwaukee 8 subforum

EDIT did you mean the 124 Kit, by chance? I see you may have an M8

He is in the correct forum. It’s a 117” low compression kit by Fuel Moto, which I have, with the CR -460 cam. I love it , no problems in 5000 miles. Great for two-up cruising

I don’t think the 117 kit is still available from FM. The 124 has replaced it from what I understand.

We no longer offer the FM 117" piston/cylinder kit. This has been superseded to our FM 124" kit here> https://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-23898140

Jamie, Thanks for the response. Was the 117 not selling well, or is that "we" just want more,? Because the M8 is so easy to build for power and torque? Thanks, CSM-H

There were a few factors; the 117 used bored factory cylinders so there was shipping cylinders back & forth, core charges, etc.. Once we were able to source aftermarket cylinders (at a larger bore size nonetheless) and include them with the kit at not much more money it was a no brainer. The 124's do everything the 117's do, just more of it

Usually if there are few comments, its because people are happy with the motor. Only ones that post are the negative views and complainers. So no posts good or bad is good!

Jaime - I had your 107" done on my TC and had great power but was hot. How much more heat does the 124" put out? I would be looking for an upgrade in another year or so.

When you increase engine output this is energy which creates more heat, however the M8 engines dissipate & transfer heat better than a Twin Cam. We've built in the hundreds of big bore M8 engines and i've personally put thousands of miles on our shop bikes with no heat related issues or discomfort.
