Nothing for transfer? They fixed mine at their expense.

I suspect you were under warranty, or reported/documented the problem when under warranty......???

A safety recall would require them to fix the problem, regardless of warranty status or whether or not you are the original owner. About 3 months ago, I had a safety recall performed on a 2004 Toyota Corolla I bought new in 2004...

The NHTSA only forces safety recalls.... unless the transfer or sumping led to people being hurt or killed (ie, the oil transfer locked up the clutch and caused crashes), you won't see any forced safety recalls for those issues...

The only way to influence the MoCo in their handling of those issues, would be if they were to affect the bottom line.... Since the majority don't have those problems, and most of those with the problems can be mostly handled with a band-aide repair.... the warranty/repair costs stay below an acceptable limit....

As usual, the MoCo will be more than happy to sell you a part and charge you to install it, on a known issue... that either doesn't show up, or you fail to report, until after the warranty is over...

Deja Vu all over again: crank run-out, spring tensioners, "new" compensator, etc, etc....

Good to know they won't get to skate on those damn reflectors....!!!!

I'm under warranty but I just put the Greg Williams rod in and problem solved. No way am I letting MOCO drill my primary.

If it was me, I’d engage my dealer shop manager and gently convince him/her to do it as a good feeling measure. If he refused I’d maybe try another shop. But I wouldn’t grovel over it. It is an easy home job, cost minimal. I love the bike too much to get twisted out of shape over such a minor issue.

I would sure let the selling dealer manager know that a future sale would be lost.
