Inferno supercharged Breakout breaks into the 9's!
At last had a chance to get to the strip. I've put in a lock up clutch to take the power, this was a chance to try it out so we went to Santa Pod Raceway (the only full time track in the UK) on Saturday. Boy was it windy, at least a 20 mph head wind gusting around to.
The bike ran faultlessly all day. The only trouble I had was leaving the line. The lock up and my heavy springs gave me very little feel and I couldn't match the 60'.s I did last time out where I did a best of 1.54. even with these conditions against me I ran four nines with a best of 9.81 at 139.50 mph.
I still need to fit a shift light, i'm sure i'm shifting to early in the lower gears. That's my next task. All in all a great day showing the potential of whats still to come.
Fastest run of the day.
I'm not a young 100 lb Jockey, just a slightly over weight pensioner
Some runs were a bit out of control.
A better launch
I think on the right day with a shift light and no head wind i'll be in the low 9's.
Looking at the side on photo's the seating position is a long way back and the rake on the forks is 34 deg so all the weight is to far back. have to think about this and see if I can transfer some weight forward, it would help a lot of the line.

Well done, fantastic work my friend as you know the centrifugal type superchargers are linear and as I'm probably typing krud you already know you have to shift into the meat of the torque of the next gear.A set of wheelie bars might help but in the UK that puts you in a different class I think , it was the 90's last time I went to a drag meet in the UK.So fantastic stuff and now you've cracked nines all your waking hours will no doubt be spent nutting out ways of getting that lower.
Awesomely goodness my friend.
Peace,shift wisely.
