Wow. Sorry to hear about this. Hope they slap a new engine in there quickly and without hassle.

That's a new form of ugly. Pretty sure the top pic is the oil pump face against the georator, second is your crankcase georator set, third is a badly scored piston and 4th/5th is the culprit... counterbalncer tooth. Yuck!

Heard of a very very few issues with the counterbalancer, but only on high hp builds.

When the dealer tech called he said it was fortunate I hadn't done the Fuelmoto 124 kit yet. He said an aftermarket tuner would have voided the warranty immediately -- that's why I normally put 1,000mi on a bike before voiding the warranty. I may have to push back my scheduled end of May install at Fuelmoto to get 1,000mi on the replacement engine. Hopefully I'll have a timeline on nrxt steps from the dealer soon.

He said he took some photos and sent them off to the MOCO -- he and the MOCO said they had never seen anything like that before. He expects to hear back from the MOCO today or tomorrow, but thinks I'll get a new engine out of this. He said there's no telling what caused what, other than the final carnage he saw when he opened it up. He said he would send me the pictures he took of the damage -- when I receive them I will post.
Yup, whole lower end is gone if the balancer ate itself, cases would be stressed at the bearing points for the counter balance shaft, crank definitely took a hard hit. Be cheaper for them to just crate motor instead of R&R the old one.

They haven't promised a new motor yet -- still need to hear back from the MOCO and dealer on that.

...hope for the best for you. I'd be pissed if you didn't get a new motor-there'd be more labor & parts to repair that motor vs a new motor. Even if they could "temporarily" fix that motor, what else maybe wrong with it they might miss or cannot see?

Got a call this morning -- they are shipping a new motor. Supposed to be here early next week -- maybe I'll be riding by the end of the week.

Awesome news man, you deserve it. Do you know if they are calling this sumping, or did something let go in the motor. Glad the Mo Co is doing right for you.
