Can anyone tell me can the 2017 Road Glide Spoiler Fairing be mounted to a 2016 Road Glide. I know there has be some way to mount it with some modifications. I would love to put this on my bike.

Some say the spoiler can be mounted using no crash bar at all. Whats your opinion? Do you think it would be sturdy enough without one? I plan to order one of these but I don't want a crash bar.

It connects to the crash bar only in 1 spot. It MAY be secure enough but can't say for sure. There are 2 other connection points, 1 at the very bottom and one at the very top so there would be no mid support.

since the fairing spoiler didn't come out until 2018, if it fits on a 2017, it'll fit your 2016. for it to be a straight bolt on, you're gonna need to order the chopped engine guard with the fairing support as well as the fairing spoiler kit.

I am a stainless fabricator by trade so if something needs to be made for more support, I can probably whip something up. That really looks sharp on a blue bike. It sticks out more than it does on a black bike.

The oilcooler of the 2016 (TC) is different to the oilcooler of the 2017+ (M8) models. So the chinspoiler of the fairing spoiler kit will not fit without modifications.

You CAN use a chopped engine guard, but you don't NEED to. (my bike has no engine guard and a fairing spoiler, and there are people that mounted the spoiler with the std engine guard. Just look through this tread)

maybe so, but according to hd, it will fit without modifications (though you do have to replace the grommets in the oil cooler with ones supplied in the kit)

as far as using it without the chopped bar, sure, it can be done. some, as you said, have done it. there are others that are not as confident in the jimmy rigged mounting. i don't care one way or the other. i'm not going to run it as i prefer to run fairing lowers, but bravo to those who like the look.
