Default My engine oil light came on....

I have a 2017 CVO Limited.Yesterday I went riding with some friends and after 10 to 15 minutes of riding the oil light came on. I hit the info button the oil pressure reading was a flat line.
I didn't here any thing unusual with the engine so I pulled in the clutch and killed the engine. We were running about 50 mph so while the bike was coasting I decided to start it back up and the light went off and oil pressure read ok.

By that time I was able to pull over at a store and check the oil level and connection on the sending unit, everything was good.I told my friends what was going on and if it happened again I would call son-in-law to come and get me.
We continued riding and did close to 200 miles of riding with no issues. I'm suspecting an eletrical gremlin or a sending unit may beginning to fail. I will order a new one this week and eliminate that as a possibility.

Just asking if anyone else has had this happen to them.
I do know of the oil pump failures in the early M8 engines

Thanks
Terence
P S The bike has 12000 miles with no engine mods only mufflers

last year, and for the first time, the lamp came on my Road King. pulled off road and checked things out, everything ok, fired up and hasn't come on since...I suspect what happened was when we were stopped for construction I had turned the engine off...traffic started moving ahead so I started in gear and took off without waiting for the ignition/EFI to complete its cycling process, and that's when the light came on

I had to have a sending unit (oil pressure switch) replaced for the same thing. The biggest clue is the dashed lines. It means the ECM is not receiving a voltage (signal), which is different than having actual low oil pressure.

If you had actual low oil pressure you'd know it. The lifters would be louder than the exhaust. Sounds terrible and unmistakable.

If you hit the button too fast the engine light will come on. You need to wait a bit first, sometimes I forget too.

Happened to me the other day too. Oil level good, hasn't happened since. If I do recall, I believe I may have started it quickly after turning on the ignition switch.

not sure if I did or did not start it up quickly,I just looked down at the gauges a few miles down the road and saw the light on. I'm getting a new switch this evening, for $14.00 I'm gonna change it anyway

Thanks for all the replies

I have the same bike, same engine with 13k miles and no issues. Is it not still under warranty?

Any codes?
