Im wondering that you all trust your dealers.
In 2016 where the first CVOs with TPMS was released, the dealer said its impossible to activate this feature. But at this time they also dont know that you need the same or newer BCM of this. All other 2016 bikes had an older BCM.
I checked the inside of my wheel and the tire sensor and i cant see any reason why it shouldnt fit.

Can you explain why they selling an aftermarket TPMS System for Harleys and your dealers told you it dont fit? Makes no sense.
Its the same thing like the new Boom GTS. Some dealers saying its impossible to retrofit and some dealers had it successful retrofitted.
Or they saying the new Harley Flipkey isnt working on older models. For sure its working but you need also a newer BCM.

But I’m kind of also in the camp that if it was that easy to do H-D would have a retro fit kit and making money off of it.
As as far as the GTS. This is the first time I’ve heard of someone actually getting it to work on an older bike. Seeing is believing. The internet is full of miss information. Just saying.

Here is another question then. What is keeping you from mating the TPMS to your bike outside the rim to see if it fact will work?

That wont work.
The pressure sensor has three modes:
1. Test mode: Prevents data transmission during shipping and storage to maximize battery life.
2. Park mode: The sensor changes from test to park mode after detecting tire pressure of approximately 100 kPa (15 psi) for 4 minutes. The sensor transmits a periodic burst to the BCM approximately every 4 hours. A replacement sensor must be in park mode to be assigned to the BCM using the TPMS ACTIVATION TOOL (Part Number:HD-51794) and DIGITAL TECHNICIAN II (Part Number:HD-48650).
3. Drive mode: The sensor changes from park to drive mode after detecting wheel acceleration for approximately 12 seconds. The sensor transmits a periodic burst to the BCM approximately every minute. The sensor reverts to park mode after detecting no wheel acceleration for approximately 7 minutes.
The sensor will only work when the pressure is 15psi or more.
I need to go in park mode first.
