update: max threshold for warning screen/light that can be adjusted is 3 psi according to them.

Already at that so, thats that.

they did offer a smiley sticker I could place on the warning light.

What sensors are you using? What bike is this in, your 2020 RG Limited listed in your signature block? So are you running the STOCK TPMS system (part of the HD RDRS system)?

If so: your challenge isn't really clear to those of us who are ADDING TPMS to earlier model bikes. Who sets the threshold? The dealer? HD? Have you tried a different dealer (if one's close enough to you)?

I'm not seeing many posts about the same issue you're having, nor are they from anyone who's done what this thread was started for: that is, ADDING the TPMS sensors to older models and getting them working like the '20 models/CVO bikes (that came stock with TPMS).

yes, im not seeing much info on this subject so posted as close a thread as I could...

so far I was told by a dealer #1 it was never set at setup, dealer #2 max 3psi off and you get a warning light and screen(low tire pressure) appears. can not be changed to the industry standard of 25% low,aprox 10psi off......like cars do, unless I go in myself and sneak a resister in some wiring etc...?

yeah this is a bit of a luxury problem, I like every thing about this bike just needs a tweek. might call MOCO up will be next or other dealers... so little info out there, maybe needs more time for information to surface?

 

I activated my TPMS-sensors with the Diag4Bike, and there was no positon in the menu to set a threshold. I also wondered about it, asked around and was told that there is a standard setting for it in the BCM that comes from the factory.

But I do not know if it can be changed with the HD Digital Technican that is used by the dealers...

 

Thanks to SeriousSv3n, alexobelixand others, I'm convinced I can successfully retrofit the TPMS to my 2015 FLTRUSE. QUESTION: will the 2020 TPMS sensor kit 42300124 also work on my 8.3mm valve stem Slicer wheels? And if so, is the kit available with chrome valve stems?

The 2016 FLTRUSE was the first Road Glide with the TPMS feature and my 2015 CVO Slicer wheels have the identical part numbers as the 2016 CVO Slicer wheels. Also, I'd previously installed FOBO sensors and measured the stock Slicer valve stems at 8.3mm. I'm about to order the Smart Security System Kit; 41000087F which includes 2 new FOB’s + BCM 41000341. Was going to order a pair of Chrome 2016+ Wheel Valve-Sensors 32700052 until reading this thread. Would prefer using the 2020 sensor kit because it's newer and because the sensors appear to be less prone to damage during tire changes. They appear to fit flush against the inner rim rather than spaced away from the inner rim like the 32700052 sensors.

Am I correct that alexobelix has gotten the new TPMS-sensor kit (no. 42300124) to work on a 2017 Road Glide?

 

I got the old sensor. I know it will work. No benefits to getting the new ones as you still can’t swap the battery.

 

The only benefit ist the price… the new kit is cheaper then 2 old sensors (at least here in Europe).

I also used the new kit to find out if it works in pre 2020 bikes… and it does ;-)

 

How do you get it to work in a 2016 FLHXS with the 6.5 Boom Audio?

 

Alexobelix: any issues with the Fobo adapters and the valves from the kit leaking air? I'm getting close to needing to swap the tires, so I'm nearly ready to do the hardware part of the install (then have to find a dealer who will assign the sensors and activate the TPMS function) and just wanted to be sure you're not seeing any negatives with using the Fobo adapter.

 

No, I did approx.. 3000km with the TPMS and did not lose any air...
