Stock tires on M8 Touring - what do you think of them in wet conditions?

I don't like Dunlop tires, have had issues with them in the past. The stock ones on my '17 RGS are ok in the dry, not so good in the wet. The best wet weather cruiser tires I have found are Shinko 777HDs. Softer compound, and you do sacrifice mileage for traction. But they are about $200 a set and I mount my own..

The stock Dunlops have worked well for me on four touring bikes from 2008 to 2017 with 120k miles. We have ridden from DC all the way back to NC in heavy rain. Rode half way back from York, PA to NC in heavy rain, and spent a week in and out of rain in four states while on vacation last year. Those are just some of the longer rides. As for the lines, arrows, cross walks, etc you MUST use extreme caution when wet. THEY ARE SLICK!
There is a company here in NC that makes these heat applied lines, arrows, crosswalks, the big interstate shields and all the rest you see on the roadways. I'm not going to mention their name because they are a customer. It is really cool stuff and some actually has a non-slip product embedded into it. In talking with one of their engineers he mentioned the standards they have to meet on slip resistance on the crosswalks and those yellow beaded pads on each side of the roadway at crosswalks. I told him I ride a motorcycle and I was interested in knowing if there are standards to bikers. The answer was an immediate "NO". We do not matter to the government setting the standards even though we have the same expenses as automobiles.

The few times 4-5 I've been caught in the rain they have done well. The Dunlops (402s) that were on my Dyna were like riding on ice. The ones on the RG have done well even on tight twisty roads in Ark this past Sept. 7k and very little wear up to this point also. Don't know what the difference is but my Dyna rear was completely shot at 4500 miles. I have ridden this bike just as hard with more twisty rides than the Dyna got in the less miles and loaded heavily a lot of the time. The only real difference I can come up with is the Dyna had much more engine braking than the new M8 clutch setup has but the M8 is much harder accelerating so that should be about a wash.
