Default Stock 117 review

This is my early review of the 2019 stock 117 M8. Im closing in on the 1,000 mile mark the past 7 days. The one thing that jumps out at me with this motor is, it seems happier in higher rpm's. It has plenty of low end grunt but almost feels like it finds new life around 3k rpm's and up. Harley markets this motor as having a high performance cam so I assume maybe its similar to an HP cam instead of a torque cam. I tried really to hard to like the stock cvo slip ons but just could not make it work, got this big bad a$$ 117 and it sounded like farting in a paper bag, LoL. Anyway, put the new slip ons on and wow what a difference, sounds very proper now! I know it's still very early but so far I'm loving this 117 and really hope for many many trouble free miles ahead of me!

glad you're happy with it and got the sound part sorted..I would think there should be no good reason to have to spend any money on engine performance with that size motor and how much they cost

You got that right! Hate that I had to spend money on slip ons, well, didn't have to but you know what I mean. That is gonna be the extent of anything performance wise I do to this bike. I will probably get a driver backrest from cvobackrest.com and after that just gonna ride and enjoy.
