Still no work around for bikes with WHIM installed already, such as CVO's & dressers.

No one has an update or any information on this? Come on. Let's get this figured out.

I messaged Soundz today (also had previous conversation). I mentioned to them that I unplugged the WHIM module and still couldn't get Carplay to pop up when my phone is plugged in. They said it should. I asked them if they actually did it on a CVO before and I am waiting to hear back. I might pop the fairing back off and unplug the WHIM harness as well and see what happens then.

Here's what it looks like under the hood for CVO's .

I remember worrying about my jockey shift and pant leg getting caught in the belt drive. Oh how times have changed.

You must be out of touch, that still can happen. In my day we were more worried about getting caught in a chain drive, a belt didn’t seem to be much issue...

I have GOOD NEWS! I took my bike to the dealership today and had them disable the microphone in the WHIM setup. I am now able to simply plug in my iPhone and CarPlay comes up without requiring a microphone connected to the bike wirelessly or hard wired. I am loving it. My Cardo PackTalk bold has voice activation including 'Hey Siri' so this is perfect. The WHIM is still enabled but just the Apple CarPlay Microphone option in DigitalTech is set to 'Disabled'.

Also, I read elsewhere that it might be possible to have the dealership completely disable the WHIM all together in DigitalTech and this will allow CarPlay to work simply by connecting your iPhone to the BoomBox GTS simply using Bluetooth and not having to plug it in. I don't know if this is true or not but it might be worth a try.

CarPlay didn’t work over Bluetooth. It works via a hard connection or WiFi. That’s it. I would be shocked if Harley installed WiFi in the radios. It would have been announced as much. Very few CarPlay radios have WiFi CarPlay built in.

Here's a few screenshots. Hopefully it works. Will give it a try when I'm at dealer for the 1k service that I'm over due for. To clarify, as there were other videos floating around. This is not the video where you check the box for WHIM enabled, even if you don't have a WHIM. As that was also working for non CVO bikes to get Carplay to show up.(I could not get Carplay to show up by unplugging my WHIM, as previously noted)
