Default Road Glide advice

I would like to buy a Road Glide - should I hold out for a deal on a 2018, or is the 2019 so much better that I should go that route. The biggest difference I can see right now is the infotainment system, most else looks the same. Anything different about the motor reliability?

If 2018 - what is a reasonable negotiated price?

Thanks

I would get the 19 if it was me...two years into new motor, new radio, etc. if you plan to keep the bike figure the cost difference across the years you plan to keep it. If it’s $2k more and you plan on 5 years that would be $400 a year or $33/ month for the differences...

Have to go to “special” version to get larger, 114 vs 107, engine and new boom. But then also lose chrome for black. If you know you want RGS (S for special) rather than regular RG, get the 2019. If you want regular RG, can stick with 2018 and probably save $5k.

I would go 19, it's possible they have implemented some hidden changes into the engine, powertrain and elsewhere from lessons learned over a couple years..may or may not be true tho but it's more mature in the process of evolving

I stopped at that store in Hudsonville at this time last year to look at the new models. They didn't have any so I asked and they said the new models are in the basement. They had lots of leftovers. I wont stop in there again. You can probably find new 16's 17's and 18's.on their floor this weekend and the 19's in the basement. Last year those guys at Hudsonville wanted full price for leftovers. They tried to hard sell me leftovers when all I wanted to do was look at new models. I think the new infotainment makes the 19 a better buy at a store with new bikes..

New radio, 7 more cubes, and probably some other tweaks to the engine/trans for reliability and I don’t believe they increased prices. Probably could get a deal on an 18 but the new radio looks like it’s way better than the old one, the old one kinda sucks. It’s usable once you figure it out but the interface feels really clunky. However I’m not a big fan of all the denim colors, but I have only ever bought Black harleys.

I depends on what you value. The 114 vs 107 isn't much of a consideration for me. The new radio, however, would lead me towards a 19, unless there was a killer deal on an 18.

I was in OP's shoes in 2010, when they migrated the FLHX to a dreaded 2-1 exhaust. Local dealer had three leftover 2009 FLHX's on floor and I went w/one of these b/c, at the time, this dealer wanted to get these final touring bikes off the books & worked a great deal.

It's all in the hand your sales rep deals...if they don't play = walk away. Plenty of leftovers out there & you just need to keep hunting. Hell, a one-way plane ticket to catch a deal is well worth it (if local dealers won't cooperate). Then you get to break 'er in on the trek home.

A couple of guys I ride with moved from Limiteds to Road Glides, 2017 & 2018 models. They love their bikes. Only complaint both have is the location/angle of the infotainment screen causes a glare making it very difficult to see on sunny days. So, I am wondering if the new radio everyone is mentioning was re-positioned or not?
