Default Brake squeak? Easy fix

Ok as usual if your a warranty queen/ troll on to next subject...this ain't for you. But like a lot of us that service or work on our own bike this might be something you did or didn't know how. I have had help from members here so I decides to show a simple 12 min brake fix for that PITA squeak that shows up know and than. Best part? It's free if you own tools.
This is the harder one to do as it's the rear.....fronts are the same.
First is to loosen these 3 bolts after you remove your bag on right side if you have one . Remove the 2 larger ones after small one is just broken loose....don't try to take small one out till you pull caliphers out as it's got a pin in it

Next remove clip it pulls straight up. Than unscrew bolt/ pin. Next up push one pad toward the other and snap it out

Now with the pads in hand look at edges of pad.....go chamfer every edge with what ever you decide to use. Files ,sand paper, flapper disc...doesn't matter you won't hurt pads....notice how thin these pads are....brembo. Most look used up and are new. This pad had a small chip....if your a warranty queen or worry wart it will freak you out. It's nothing,I ride on dirt roads a lot and they get knicked. No big deal. I also chamfer the 3 slots. I do not sand the rotor as it should have material on it from brake pad. If you replace pads go ahead and lightly sand off rotor. Personal I don't wash used brake pads with brake clean...up too you. I don't show it but on my personal bike I chamber leading edge about 1/4 inch...but I figured the forum engineers would flip out if I showed that...might loose .09 percent of braking at 175mph lmfao

Now put it back together ......not going into torque specs or locktite type as it's up too you. A good 85% of the time this gets rid of run of the mill brake squeak. Time to do it if you have the tools ? 12 min with me snapping a couple of pictures.
If you don't like the method ? Lol. Don't do it. Oh and this is a method that is approved by many new car / truck manufactures. But most won't do it as it takes same amount of time too do as changing pads. Even if you don't use this at least you know it's not really a safety issuie but should be looked at.
Thanks to,the guys that have helped me here...if this gets one guy in the shop and happy good enough.

Nice. Good post. My vrods were horrible with rear brake noise. This always fixed them. I’ve been lucky with my Twinkies and M8s, so far.

It was nice you took the time to post your fix. I agree with you that chamfering pad edges will in some cases eliminate pad squeak.

. It's also not a bad idea too do when replacing brake pads on almost anything...saves on complaints later. And for us ole fluckers that still have stuff with drum brakes? Same method works on shoes......good luck
