Default SE Heavy Breather feedback wanted

mainly interested in knowing from folks that have installed this on their M8s if they contain the breather discharge or if the oily residue finds its way out to the cam plate cover, exhaust, side cover, saddlebag, etc. you know the drill..our SE High Flow Acs do a poor job of this as it requires some wiping up from time to time. pretty much from getting by the filter and back plate seal, or lack thereof...considering the HB if it will resolve that problem but don't want to spend the money obviously if it has issues as well, thanks

I've never had any. It's got a long way to go to get out of there. When i clean the filter, it does look like a bit of blowby catches in the bottom of it, but it's minimal.

that's my thinking for the AF anyway, but before it gets that far is there another avenue for it to escape?..damn Hi Flow dribbles out the tubes, down the backplate and works its way between the AF and backplate into the open

I don't think so. The HB doesn't use rubber tubes, the blow by tracks in grooves in the casting of the plate. When I clean the filter, I wipe inside the tube to see if there's any oil pooling in there, I've never found anything.

The install was straight forward. Maybe it's just me, but I find taking the filter off for cleaning a bitch. I found if I spin it to almost upside down it pops off easily.

The big problem I had with it was one I created. I'm short, 5'7", and I'm running the Mustang Low Down seat, which brings me forward about an inch or so. Which put my knee right into the HB. I cured that with Kuryakyn floorboard spacers. Most people say they don't have a knee clearance problem from what I've read.

I ran the SE high flow for a while and I had the same problem, I kept an "oil rag" in my bag to wipe off the frosting on rides. I do not have the heavy breather but instead have the Arlen Ness Method which is a fully open round filter, have not seen one drop of oil on anything since the install, few thousand miles on it since and all is good.

I have a heavy breather and have never had to clean up any oil.

I assume the AC has no affect on amount of oil/snot coming out of breather tubes. If so, wouldn’t it be better to wipe up that stuff than to have it go into engine intake?
