I completely forgot about starting this thread. It has been a while. I also forgot about the heat from the exhaust also and the wrap has held up with no cracked pipes. I just ride. One thing I noticed is that when I removed the exhaust to upgrade the oil pumps, I had to replace the wrap on the header pipes. It had become too brittle and fell apart. No problem since I had some wrap left over from the original install. This may not be for everyone but heat is no longer a concern for me. I just ride now. Regards.

Thanks for the update. I’m glad it worked out for you. I’ve ordered the wrap, and after wrapping my pipes, I might wrap my boot.

So,,I spent about 5 hours in the garage today wrapping my pipes. I bought the DEI wrap from Summit Racing. It was pretty easy to work with. I ended up wrapping the ends with Gorilla tape to prevent fraying. Then I’ll take a nice high speed ride to cook it off.

Nice work but a lot of work. I thought about doing this but decided not to because a bunch of work for a small return. I have heat on my m8 but its bearable and its only on 90 degree plus days. Might do it on a sportster or dyna. But again nice write up.

Pulling the heat shields on mine is the one thing I absolutely hate. I commend you for going though all of that.
The last bike I put wrap on, it rotted the pipe. I am sure the products are better, now.
