Default Slip-On and SE Street Tuner Only

Has anyone with an M8 just gone with Slip-Ons and the SE Street Tuner with a Stage 1 Map?
If so, what were your results?
I was thinking of starting with Forsch Performance Slip-Ons, and then adding the SE Tuner with Stage 1 Map later if I noticed any drive-ability issues (i.e. torque loss, flat spots or decel popping).
I'm not after ultimate performance....and I want to avoid adding intake or valve train noise as is common with some high flow air cleaners.

You should not need a tuner with just slip ons. Slip ons and an AC will need a tuner.

when i bought my 2017 RK I added the Street Canons and because it said ECM recalibration required I added the SEPST, only to find out there is no calibration for just slip-ons so they loaded the Stage 1 calibration..bike ran great, no undesirable effects. then curiosity got the better of me wondering if I'd missed performance gains by foregoing the SE AC, so i added it and there was a noticeable gain and it ran great..then I had them dyno tune with the SEPST which is where the biggest improvements came in drivability and more torque from 2000-3000 rpms which can really be felt and appreciated..that was about 15 months ago and enjoy it so much never felt the need or want to do anything more

Thanks MJ...I might be on a similar path as you, so I appreciate your input.
When you did add the SE Air Cleaner (I'm assuming it was the Stock Cover Version?), did you notice any increased or objectionable intake noise?

surprisingly no noticeable increase in intake noise with the SE High Flow (Stock Cover Version) unlike the our previous SE ACs, chose it because didn't want to deal with rain sock versions

When I added the SE Heavy Breather Performance Air Cleaner (Part Number 29400263 - not the stock cover version) my service guy warned me that the intake noise might be louder than the stock AC. However, I didn't notice any difference at all.... but then, that could be my less than perfect hearing. I don't think that there is as much difference as there used to be with the Heavy Breathers used on the twin cams. I believe that the M8 version is somewhat smaller than the previous versions.

one thing maybe worth mentioning, you and others are probably already aware though, and one reason I initially held off on the AC is the K&N is more porous obviously, even after properly oiled you can see the daylight through it as opposed to the paper OEM, therefore more fine grit is allowed into the engine, at least initially until it builds a layer of filth...the SE HI Flow gets filthy faster too, which gets the oil a bit dirtier as well...have a spare to swap out every oil change which is 3-4K miles...also, they can cause some breather oil dripping problems through the filter..I say maybe because mine is very minimal but wife's exact setup on her trike is pretty bad at times even though I keep our oil levels at ~ 1/2 way between ADD and FULL HOT

Thanks, I was wondering if that would be a problem with the bottom of the stock filter housing removed...at least the stock housing catches the drips.

I got a state 1 with the SE tuner and Two-Brothers slip-ons. The bike runs great and the sound is remarkably different and better. It ain't a Stage 3 or 4 but I'm happy.

I modded my stock air cleaner for a few reasons (see video link below, if interested). It's open on the bottom and I've never seen a drop of oil come out of it. No noise either. I highly recommend an air cleaner change if you're going to do the rest of it.
