Just kiddin.... I dropped and S&S oil pump in the m8 today .....if your a fan of factory warranty. Probably troll on by this post isn't for the waxer whiner crowd..Heatstroke will have a fit I am sure if he knew how easy and cheap this is too do lol His don't have it and never will screwing with dealers.Called my favorite supplier 620 bucks for the camplate and oil pump at my door next morning. W on pump tells it water cooled.. Came with all new o rings....thread locker and new bolts. Great instruction like most anything S&S.Took all of 20 min to remove factory stuff as I only lowered head pipe..another 1 hour taking my time as it's the first m8 I have cracked open to put new stuff in. After seeing this cast pump and cam plate is the same old crap the twinks had. Factory pump is 2 rotor New pump is 3 rotor. Factory cam plate is pure trash ...if your doing a cam don't even bother putting the factory trash back in. Not going to go thru a sales pitch. Decide for yourself .

The quality difference is apparent.
My bike is new and has no miles yet. I also have a four year warranty.
But if I have the sumping problem, I will look to replace with SS stuff somehow.

Dam those s&s parts are beautiful. Too bad they have to go inside the motor where you dont see them. That anodized blue looks awesome. Good luck bumpandrun.

My bike is also new.
warranty is worthless if it does happen to be the oil pump. Damage is done ......and if the motor and trans don't come out and all passages cleaned before anything is done? Just purely a patch job. I look at it as a prevention from ever going back to dealer.

. Never had a problem but when I cam it in the winter or spring I would have done this anyway. Looking at oil passages I don't see anything bad. The pump to me was much to loose a fit in oring( could suck air someday) 2 rotor cheap cast pump that if a lifter or anything else lets go...no screens...it's going thru the whole motor like several failures here and dealer sure as he ll won't flush it correctly so now no matter what you do it's gonna let go again ..super engineer or tech can't BS u on that. I personal can't find a person in my area or travels that has had one let go.....who knows. I have done the dumb a ssed test the dealer does checking how many OZs in the sump....2-8-4-3 0Zs. Never a problem.
Just thought WTH luv the bike and motor ...600 bucks isn't gonna hurt me.
Ill let everybody know as I put more miles on it...but suspect it will be like all the twinks I did with these pumps and plates. Stable oil pressure at all RPMs and a serviceable part if something lets go in the future. Plus it's way over the top a better part than I pulled out.
probobly a good piece of mind piece for the nervous nelly clan that won't go past there town line after reading about the 4 or 5 bad ones on the forums.
we will see.....
next? LIGHTS in the bags and tour pak.....looks like a bigger job. Lol

Good luck. Looks like a well engineered part. Can we assume you've already had your warranty voided which is why you're having this oil pump installed? What motivated an oil pump change on a perfectly brand new bike? Are you already sumping?
