Default Change risers on ‘17 RK?

According to P&A catalog a stock King has 1” handlebar risers that are straight (no pullback). Is it possible to change out the risers to a 2 or 3 inch curved riser? And could this be done with little to no modification of the handlebar cover? Since Harley only offers 4” curved risers I’m thinking they’d rather sell me a more expensive solution.

If this could be done it would be much easier than bar swapping. Thoughts?

I added the fat risers from Harley to my Road King Special early this year. Higher risers require the cover with the two holes for the riser to pass through.

Thanks Giacomo. So have you had any problems with rain exposure? I’m wondering how standard risers would look with those rather large holes. Would have to look for a grommet to fill space. I don’t think fat risers are available for 1” bars. Which is the whole point of just adding risers and not changing to different bars.

I found risers that basically filled the whole empty hole..i think my gaps between riser and cover are less then 1/8 inch.....pretty tight fit...i opted for the risers as I liked my handlebars but I wanted them higher...they are not apes.......they went from 12" to 16" high and a bit towards me......I like the look, not too many RK with risers..
